Church Purpose

It is the desire of Grace Bible Presbyterian Church to see people put their trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior; then help them to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” (2 Peter 3:18) This is done through worship, preaching, prayer, Bible study, service and fellowship in the local body of believers.

Grace BPC believes in the inerrancy and authority of God’s Word, the Bible. It is the only rule of faith and practice for the Christian believer. The Bible is the only standard of absolute truth in the universe, which was created by the triune God. We hold to the Westminster Confession of Faith and it’s Larger and Shorter Catechisms as an expression of what the Bible teaches us to believe about God and His plan of redemption for fallen man.

Therefore, we strive to worship God in Spirit and truth, to build up the believer in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ, to evangelize at home, the community, and the world through faithful proclamation of the Gospel and to earnestly contend for the Christian faith as taught in God’s Word.

Church History

The Church was started in 1965 with fewer than 20 members with Albert Cook called to be their Pastor. The church first met at a Holiday Inn in Sharonville, Ohio. God provided an old church building and manse that was owned by the local UAW for the church services to be held. In 1971, the church commissioned its first international missionaries, Darryl and Judy Creamer, from within its growing membership. Darryl and Judy ministered in Israel until 1989. As the congregation grew, property at our current location was purchased and a new and larger building was constructed in 1974. A new education wing was built in 1984 adding several Sunday school classrooms. The ministry, membership, and staffing continued to grow as the church has focused upon loving God, loving God’s word, and loving God’s people. As a result of this growth, the current structure was completed in 1994 adding a new sanctuary, gym, nursery, and additional classrooms with the old sanctuary being converted into a fellowship hall. In 2003, after 38 years of faithful service to our church, Pastor Albert Cook retired and our new Pastor, Pastor Timothy Miessler was installed. Pastor Miessler served our church for 11 years and resigned in 2014. Pastor Jason Hutchinson was installed in March of 2015. Our membership reached a peak in 2005 of 350 members, with a current membership of approximately 300. Missions outreach continues to have a vital and growing emphasis as we have an active Missions Committee that meets bi-monthly to encourage missions awareness throughout the ministries of the church. This includes an annual Missions Conference and participation in local and community outreach opportunities. On the months with five Sundays, the fifth Sunday evening church service is dedicated to presentations on updates, prayer requests and praises of the missions we support. Currently we support 10 foreign missionaries, 4 US missionaries, and 8 mission agencies and other organizations.
