As a church we want three things to clearly be communicated. Since we are here to glorify God and enjoy Him forever and since it is God’s Word that gives us direction on how to do that, we believe we best glorify God when we Behold Him, Pursue Godliness and Proclaim Christ.

To Behold God

This means that I should be so in love with who God is that I will be like David in Psalm 27:4…”One thing have I asked of the Lord, that I will seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, and gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in His temple.” We should love to learn about who God is and be excited to see His character revealed. We should stand in awe at His majesty and want to see Him more and more. Jesus Christ should be the object of our devotion and thoughts.

To Pursue Godliness

If we see God in all of his glory and beauty and His Son Jesus Christ as offered in the Gospel, then we are going to live differently. Paul talks about this in 1 Timothy 4:7…”train yourself for godliness.” This means that we should strive and grow in a loving and joyful service to our God and King. We are to be a living sacrifice and honor him with our thoughts, actions, emotions, and life.

To Proclaim Christ

If we are captivated by the beauty of God and we live to see Him honored in our life, then it is just going to be natural we want others to know about this. We are going to witness and make disciples like Jesus talked about in Matthew 28:16-20. We can’t keep silent about Jesus Christ. Our life looks different because our heart is in love with God and therefore our witness before the world will be obvious…we will be known by our love for one another.
